One of the most popular series on Netflix is Elite and not only because of its plot, because it also stands out for its characters, who highlight their appearance, since they appear to have no imperfection other than the personality or lifestyle they lead in fiction. This aspect recently generated controversy due to the statements of one of the creators of said production.
With the diversity of adolescent productions, such as Sex education, Euphoria, Atypical and more, in which young people go through multiple difficulties in their lives, we are amazed that in Elite we cannot see, in addition to problems of coexistence, characters with different physical traits that are more like reality.

For this reason, in a recent interview with the Fotogramas media, the co-creator and current showrunner of Elite, Carlos Montero, was asked about this detail: “I would tell you that Elite bodies are not normative. They are the opposite. They are bodies that we aspire to, either to look like them or to sleep with them.”
To which he added: “What are the reasons for showing these bodies and not the real ones? Well, the same as counting a Spanish elite that does not exist either. It is a stylization, an idealization. Just as I show swimming pools and dream houses, I also show dream bodies”.
