Mexico is a world power in gastronomy. In few countries is the food as tasty, cheerful and exuberant as there. Mexican restaurants abound throughout the Western world, and tacos, quesadillas, nachos or burritos (these last two are not very Mexican, but rather Tex-Mex) are as familiar to us as a potato tortilla. However, in Spanish houses we usually stick to the usual guacamole, served with some sad tortilla chips.
A good way to open horizons is to visit a store specializing in Mexican products. To delve into that jungle comes this new edition of the series Lost in the supermarket, which has already visited Chinese, Moroccan and Italian establishments in previous episodes. Our guide is Juan Pescador, very Mexican chef of the project Metl whom you may remember for his birria recipe. He told us about 11 products in the store Mary the Pretty in Barcelona and taught us how to use them. It’s all in the video above.
