SÃO PAULO (Reuters) – Eletrobras announced on Tuesday that it has closed the Special Purpose Society (SPE) Inambari Geração de Energia SA (Igesa).
The SPE had a 51% stake in Construtora OAS Ltda, 29.4% in Eletrobras, and 19.6% in Furnas Centrais Elétricas, according to a statement from the electric company.
The company was created in 2008 with the objective of preparing studies, implementing and exploring the hydroelectric use of the Inambari River, located in Peru, for energy integration with Brazil.
“The aforementioned closing operation is within the scope of the initiative to rationalize Eletrobras’ equity interests,” said the company.
