Grupo Elektra reported net income of 36 thousand 068 million pesos in the second quarter of the year, which meant a growth of 34 percent, in comparison with the same period of the previous year, results that were boosted for the sale of cell phones and motorcycles.
According to your financial report sent to the Mexican stock exchange (BMV), its commercial sales increased 45 percent during the period, compared to the second quarter of last year, mainly due to sales of Italika and telephony products.
“Sales of the commercial business got an additional boost with the development of new stores with a format that offers an optimal mix of merchandise and services. While, the financial income segment went from 15 thousand 815 million pesos in the second quarter of 2020 to 20 thousand 014 million of pesos for this fiscal year, reflecting a 19 percent rise in Banco Azteca México’s income.
Elektra indicated that its operating cash flow (Ebitda, for its acronym in English) was located at 5 thousand 085 million pesos, which represented an increase of 92 percent. Currently the group has 6,400 contact points, 647 units below that reported between April and June 2020. The decrease is mainly the result of the closure of 316 contact points in Latin America, derived largely from the sale Banco Azteca del Perú in the fourth quarter of 2020, as well as the closure of 290 points of contact for Purpose Financial in the United States. In Mexico, in the last twelve months, 25 new Elektra stores were opened.
