Opel Manta will be revived in a new generation with exclusively electric drive: the German brand has therefore confirmed the plans for one of the models that will distinguish its price list in the middle of the current decade. In fact, the new Manta-e will arrive in dealerships in the course of 2025also in the UK under the Vauxhall brand.
“The new Opel Manta will once again be a highly emotional car. It will be distinguished by an electric power capable of ensuring exceptional acceleration. Our Opel Manta will once again be synonymous with pure driving pleasure. We will be able to reinterpret it by offering a car of great charm and surprisingly spaciousnessa ”, commented Opel CEO Uwe Hochgeschurtz. According to reports from the German company, which operates under the control of the Stellantis group, Manta-e will be in tune with the times we live in, and versatile.
The new Manta-e will be a completely redesigned model compared to Opel’s recent electric restomod, as can be seen in the cover image. Some elements of the Manta GSe ElektroMOD Coupé will be retained, as will be recalled stylistic details of the original car. However, the new Manta-e, crossover format, should boast a decidedly more futuristic style and design. The platform on which the model will be based will also be totally new: Opel will rely on the STLA Medium platform. As promised by Opel for all its future electric cars, the range of the new Manta-e will be between 500 and 800 kilometers.
For the moment the specifications related to the electric motors and the type of traction with which the car will be equipped are not known, as are the driving aids that will find space in the Manta-e, but the German brand will have three years of time to evaluate the market and adopt a technical system capable of satisfying an audience that is presumed to be young.
