How are we aware Elden Ring it is a title that, as explained well by the good Miyazaki, makes difficulty its strong point. In fact, all the players in the world are well aware that, if the souls-like were to lower the level of challenge, probably the whole experience would be missing very heavily. However, FromSoftware seems well aware of what is happening, so much so that the director has made very strong statements on the matter.
Miyazaki was honest about his game skills, expressing himself in this way:
I’ve never been a very good player, I die a lot. If death is to be more than a sign of failure, how can I make sense of it? How to make death pleasant?
Miyazaki was adamant in the interview that the difficulty of his games is a key part of their nature, but he didn’t despise the criticism of players who complained about this particular design choice. Here are his statements:
I feel like I apologize to anyone who thinks there is too much to overcome, for most players feeling joy comes from overcoming difficulties.
