Many players have lost their Elden Ring saves due to a bug.
There PC version of Elden Ring has had numerous problems, from an optimization generally considered sub-par (as confirmed also in that of Digital Foundry) to incompatibility with controllers, but the worst problem in all probability was the loss of a lot of saved data.
Some players have suffered losses of up to 10 hours of progress. The problem arises from a screen shot of Steam asking players if they want to download cloud saves i upload their saved data. Sometimes, however, the data in the cloud does not update and players are served an outdated save-state of their saves.
Under certain conditions, save data may not sync properly with the #Steam Cloud in the PC version of ELDEN RING. If you are playing the PC version of the game, please check the following link.

Bandai Namco he wrote on Twitter that the problem is known, and yesterday in fact he updated his post by writing about an update for Steam that should fix the problem of the conflict between local and cloud saves.
An update for the #Steam client has been released which should prevent the issue of conflicting local and cloud save data. Please update your Steam client to the latest version.

There is no peace for the Lightless on PC, it seems, but the fact that the problems are fixed is certainly good news.
