A problem in the bailouts on Steam Cloud made several players lose their progress on the PC version of Elden Ringcausing not a few discontent within the community, already not exactly happy because of the stuttering that plagues the game.
But what happened? Basically you are asked if you want to download the cloud saves or if you want to upload the local saves to the cloud. This is not an oddity, since it happens in many titles, but in Elden Ring many of the saves present on the cloud seem to be dated and there are many who have been wrong by loading them, so as to overwrite the local saves and lose all progress subsequent. In some cases we talk about hours of wasted game, in others days. Think you’ve just killed a boss with immense effort and have to do it again through no fault of your own …
Bandai Namco said it is aware of the problem of bad saves on the Steam Cloud and is working to solve it. In the meantime, he advised to carefully read the dates of the synchronized bailouts so as not to end up with lost progress. Date and time of cloud files and local files are readable in Steam notifications and players should be careful to choose the most recent.
It is also recommended to do the backup of local saves, so as not to lose them permanently, in case of overwriting.
