Several years may pass and “El Chavo del 8″ will remain one of the iconic comedy series on television. Created in 1973 by Roberto Gomez Bolanos, the show gained great popularity, which placed it as the most successful creation of the Mexican actor and producer. With seven seasons on the air, it closed its time on TV in 1980.
But ‘Chespirito’ was not the only interpreter who was part of “El Chavo”. The cast was made up of Ramón Valdés, Carlos Villagrán, María Antonieta de las Nieves, Florinda Meza, Rubén Aguirre, Angelines Fernández and Édgar Vivar.. Each one of them, with the characters they played, earned the affection of the public, the same that continues to this day.
One of the most popular was Angelines Fernández, who gave life to Doña Clotilde or also known as the ‘Witch of 71’. Because of her behavior, somewhat strange for the ‘children’ of the neighborhood, but normal in the eyes of adults, she gained public attention for her mysterious aura with which she was presented in “El Chavo of the 8″. Also, her unrequited love for Don Ramón stole more than one smile.
