In Murcia the highest value was recorded this Monday, exceeding 44 degrees
The ‘African beast’ is sweeping the Region of Murcia this Monday,
leaving in the capital the highest temperature in the whole country, with a maximum of 44.1 degrees recorded at 4.30 p.m. Despite the fact that the thermometer has not set any record, the heat has not given a truce to Murcians who have had to set foot in the suffocating streets of the city and have seen how the mercury, in the sun, marked the whopping of almost 50 degrees.
The extreme episode is such in the southeastern part of the country that of the ten maximum temperatures recorded throughout Spain so far this day,
eight are located in different parts of the Murcian territory. Specifically, the State Meteorological Agency reports that they belong to areas of the Vega del Segura and the surroundings, including the Guadalentín Valley and even points in Campo de Cartagena.
Murcia, Molina de Segura, Alhama de Murcia, Totana and Lorca stand out above 42 degrees.

Last night, some Murcians have been able to find it difficult to fall asleep, because the temperatures have not given up either in the hours that are supposed to be cooler of the day. According to data from the Aemet,
Fuentes del Marqués station, in Caravaca de la Cruz, takes the cake with a minimum of 28.6ºC at 7.00 am, the highest registered in the last twelve years. This important increase is due to a rebound in the west component that was combined with the effects of the ‘African beast’.
It is closely followed by the night of the Altiplano, with a minimum of 26 degrees, while in the rest of the territory the mercury has oscillated between 25 and 23 degrees, temperatures that, registered in the first hours of sun of the day, do not they are not negligible.
