All ‘EICMA 2021 there are many news also for Vent, the company of Introbio which is the protagonist in various segments of the two-wheeled market. After the constant growth in numbers in the last two years, dictated by the great success of the 50cc and 125cc models obtained in Italy and in some European countries (France, Austria, Germany, Holland above all), Vent is preparing for a rich 2022 season of news concerning both the motorcycle and e-bike ranges. Vent’s growth path continues with the arrival of new models that embrace an increasingly wider audience: from 14 to 18 years and over. In short, motorcycles “made in Valsassina” aim even higher and they try to attract even those who are more experienced.
We start with the Derapage and Baja 125 four-stroke motorcycles, available in the version with steel and aluminum perimeter frame. They are both Euro 5 thanks to the new Minarelli engine with electronic injection. The engine, with variable valve timing, is an improvement in terms of power and consumption. The bikes are 30 millimeters longer and wider, while the suspension calibration with the 41 mm RSV16 upside-down fork is a novelty. The bikes will be sold at a price of € 5,090 for the steel frame models and € 5,790 for the aluminum versions. The same bikes will also be available in the 50cc Euro 5 version.
It continues with a touch of color, the Derapage 100 Manga Edition. This is a model designed for those who love Japanese comics, and there are so many people actually. Potentially large audience, therefore, who could appreciate the ‘nippon’ graphics on a 100 engine motorbike.
Turning to the world of pedal assisted bikes, Vent announced the arrival of the first bi-suspension eGravel in the world, of a SuperEnduro, of a cargo e-bike. There eGravel ride the market: this type of ‘racing’ bikes are in trend. The Frontier model uses the TST system in the top tube, Vent’s patented and distinctive technical solution that provides a new concept of cushioning. Furthermore, thanks to the synergy with FSA, Frontier is equipped with the new 250W FSA HM 1.0 rear hub system with battery integrated in the 250 Wh down tube. The system also includes a “bottle” range extender (optional) to extend the excursions, as well as being completed by a remote control that integrates into the top tube and manages five assistance settings, from “eco” (green) to “Boost” (red), which provides up to a maximum of 250 W and 42 Nm of torque. The transmission adopted is the new SRAM proposal dedicated to the gravel world, that is the XPLR 12-speed AXS series, gearshift and brake control integrated into a single lever and 160mm disc brakes. It will be on the market in late spring 2022 at an indicative price of € 8,000.
Also noteworthy is the SuperEnduro Grigna, whose name is dedicated to the Lecco mountains. It is a bike that is able to tackle even rough and steep paths. The efforts have produced a tough, pure e-bike with a CNC machined “hollowed out” frame with long-travel suspension and the assistance of a long-lasting motor and battery. With 180mm of front and rear travel, the Vent Grigna is also the only fully CNC-machined aluminum frame e-bike in the world. It should arrive on the market in late spring 2022, with a target price of € 13,000.
A peculiarity, in terms of shape, is represented by the cargo e-bike Ondawagon, designed by the architect Federico Rossi. It looks like an old-fashioned bicycle, but in reality it is full of modern inspirations. It is fitted with a double-beam aluminum frame that seamlessly surmounts both wheels by exploiting the entire loading surface of the vehicle. Inspired by the world of boating, and in particular sailing, the designer used a rail to anchor all existing and future accessories to the frame. In the internal space a “locker” has been created in which to store objects. The surface was made of natural wood (nature = sustainability) and moved with a wave that connects the handlebar.
