When the doors of theEICMA, 2021 edition, there will be no more time to count those who have decided not to be present. Despite the lack of brands such as BMW, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Husqvarna and Ktm, whose digital strategy has prevailed over public contact (and in these times of pandemic, one can understand the reasons for safety), the two-wheeler show will really have a lot to offer. Because if it is true that mobility is changing and that the car world is also discovering new realities, there are also many innovations among motorcycles.
AT EICMA there will be many companies that will present their electric vehicles: Zero Motorcycle, Vmoto Soco, Niu, Cake, Ox Motorcycles, Yadea, Ottobike, Soriano Motori, Wayel, Revolt, Horwin, Verge Motorcycles, ThunderVolt, Next Electric Motors, Tromox, Garelli. There will be ‘traditional’ houses: Benelli will arrive with the TRK 800 model, MV Agusta has announced the return of the “Lucky Explorer” brand, Aprilia could add a fourth bike to the 660 platform, Moto Guzzi will bring the V100 Mandello and the One electric scooter . Yamaha will celebrate the career of Valentino Rossi Thursday 25 November at 2 pm, which is why a great turnout is expected, green pass in hand.
Eicma will actually start on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 November with days dedicated to the press and operators, and will then open to the public until Sunday 28. Five pavilions will be open and populated by over 820 brands (35 countries represented), with the addition of Moto Live, the outdoor area for testing motorcycles, scooters and electric bicycles.
“In a sector where passion is still the driving motivation for purchasing, the direct relationship with the products, together with the emotional and sensorial dimension, make the Eicma model current and open to the future.»Declared the president of Eicma, Pietro Meda. Paolo Magri, president of ANCMA, added: «This edition has a great symbolic value, also for the protagonism that two wheels have assumed in post-Covid mobility. It is important that companies can regain possession of their natural stage, where they can transform the fruit of their efforts into opportunities. And it is important that this happens in Italy, where the two-wheeler industry is worth over 7 billion euros and involves more than 100,000 employees ».
The 2019 edition was a record, with 744 thousand tickets sold: perhaps this time it will not go as well, because Covid is not only an ugly beast when you take it, but also because it scares. The desire to resume a normal life, however, is too great not to take advantage of the opportunity offered by vaccines and green passes.
The times established for the days open to the public are the same from Thursday 25 November to Sunday 28: from 9:30 to 18:30. The ticket costs 19 euros online and 23 euros at the cash desks, but EICMA does not recommend buying it on the spot. Despite the opening of a minimum number of physical cash desks at the Fair with reduced service, we wanted to ease the pressure on the sales desks so as not to offer opportunities for gathering. Access to the Exhibition Center will be allowed only to holders of a valid Green Pass or by presenting the certification of the negative outcome of the molecular or rapid swab carried out in the previous 48 hours; it will be possible to carry out a quick test before entering the event. The Hubs will be installed at the entrances of Porta Est, Porta Ovest, Porta Sud. The service will be subject to a fee and the certificate issued will be in two languages (Italian and English). It will also be mandatory to wear special masks for the entire duration of the stay in the exhibition center; whoever does not wear the mask correctly could be removed from the Event. It is recommended to always maintain the interpersonal distance of at least one meter.
