The brand Benelli, which today is Chinese-owned while continuing its research and development activity in Italy, has relaunched the Leoncino name. The Pesaro manufacturer has also decided to add a 125 and two 800 models to the list with the same engine as the TRK.
The 125 will have a 12.8 horsepower single-cylinder engine, with four valves per cylinder, liquid-cooled and with a six-speed gearbox. The line is obviously inspired by that of the older sisters. The Leoncino 800 will instead be launched in two versions, one of which is dedicated to the ‘Trail’. Even with these bikes, the company wants to improve on the market, aiming to become a leader in the markets to which it belongs, not only in Italy, but also in Europe.
The line of the bike is certainly sculpted, but the current ‘arch’ style of the brand has been maintained on the headlight and tank. The engine has an output of 76.2 horsepower at 8500 rpm, a torque of 67 Nm at 6500 rpm and a six-speed gearbox. The tank is made of sheet steel with 15 liters of capacity). The projector is Led, clearly inspired by the Leoncino 250, with the Benelli Leoncino logo positioned in the center. The dashboard is equipped with TFT digital instrumentation, while the saddle is a ‘single piece’. The frame is a tubular trellis with steel plates. The engine is Euro 5 approved. The swingarm is oscillating with central mono adjustable in preload. It weighs 222 kilograms, about 12 less than its sister Trail.
In the Trail configuration (cover photo), the front wheel becomes 19 inches and gets suspensions of 148 millimeters at the front (compared to 140 in the “normal” version). At the rear, the swingarm reaches 140 mm, also raising the seat from 803 to 834 millimeters. there is also a double high side exhaust. The mass in running order is 234 kilos. The prices are not known, but the availability will start from 2022 and therefore we will not have to wait long.
