The brand Aprilia has decided to celebrate its victory in the Twins Cup USA category, MotoAmerica 2021 championship, by churning out a special model of the RS 660. But it will not be a one-off, but a numbered edition of 1,500 units. The peculiarity of this bike, in aesthetic terms, will be the stars and stripes livery. But that’s not the only novelty.
The Limited Edition seen in EICMA 2021 it is in fact equipped as standard with racing accessories of the version that raced in the Twins Cup. The sporty character of the Limited Edition is highlighted by the single-seat tail cover, a detail that eliminates the passenger seat (although it is still supplied separately). Consequently, the two-seater homologation remains. The larger windshield guarantees better protection from the air, both on the road and on the track, and there is also specific software that allows you to set the quick shift electronic gearbox in reverse configuration. In this way, depending on the needs, the gearbox can be configured in substantial autonomy, without replacing any particular. All other technical features are the same as the standard RS 660.
We recall that Aprilia achieved ten wins out of thirteen races disputed, with 16 podiums and six pole positions, in the 2021 MotoAmerica championship. The Twins Cup category was won by Kaleb De Keyrel (Robem Engineering team), with five personal victories. The coloring is derived from the graphics brought to the race in Vallelunga by the Twins Cup champion, Kaleb De Keyrel, on the occasion of the last stage of the Aprilia RS 660 Trophy. and indicates the limited edition of 1500 copies. An official price has not yet been announced.
