On Monday, Egypt witnessed rain in separate areas, which was thunder at times, in a sudden change in the weather condition.
In a post on its Facebook page, the authority said, “The latest satellite images indicate the presence of clouds and thunder cells over east and south Cairo, areas of Lower Egypt, northern Upper Egypt, and north and central Sinai, accompanied by rainfall of varying intensity.”
The authority had issued a warning on Monday night that will continue until Tuesday noon, of rain, which may be thunder at times, in separate areas of Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt, Sinai and the Gulf of Suez area.
The authority pointed to “severe and rapid changes” in the weather that are characteristic of the autumn season, and called for “taking all necessary preparations and measures to reduce the effects of expected weather phenomena on some areas.”
