The escape of a girl known in the media as “Mashreda Faisal” sparked controversy in Egypt, after she ran away from the care homes that took care of her, after her pictures spread on social media. According to Mahmoud Waheed, head of the Ma’ana Foundation to Save a Human being, Liqa’a, known as Mashrada Faisal, suddenly disappeared, and a review of the house’s cameras found that she jumped from the top of the walls of the house to rush out and disappear. The story of a meeting began when pictures of her were spread on social media, while she was sitting in a street, to receive great sympathy, especially with the spread of her during her recent marriage. A meeting appeared in a short video in which she talks about her suffering, saying: “My husband neglected me and expelled me outside the house, and I am looking for a shelter that protects me from the winter cold.” Within days, the care institution moved to save her, and during her stay, she underwent a series of medical analyzes that revealed that she had a contagious immune disease, a psychological disorder, and showed her addiction to drugs, so the home began to isolate her in preparation for her undergoing treatment sessions. Waheed told Al-Ittihad that he expected that the reason for Liqa’s escape from the home was the isolation procedures that she underwent, for fear of the rest of the home’s inmates from the immune disease, as she wanted to engage with the rest of her colleagues, and she felt annoyed by the precautionary isolation until the rest of the medical examinations are performed. He added that a psychiatric hospital was contacted to start treatment with a meeting in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, and at that time she felt annoyed to start procedures for transferring her to a place other than the care home, which prompted her to flee before being transferred to the hospital. The director of the care home explained that he tried to reach her father to quickly complete the procedures for transferring her to the psychiatric hospital because the reservation is faster in the case of a first-degree relative, but the home was surprised by the intransigence of her father and the lack of fruitful cooperation for a whole week, and this is what delayed the transfer procedures to the psychiatric hospital , and contributed to the escape of the meeting from the house. Liqa”s father revealed in statements to local media that his daughter suffered from a mental illness, which made her used to run away from home since she was ten years old, until she was sponsored by 20 different families and every time he found her and brought her back to her home. He also explained that she had been married for five years, but separated from her husband after only two months and disappeared and nothing was known about her until her pictures appeared on social media recently. It is noteworthy that the care home officials had informed the Egyptian police and the Ministry of Social Solidarity, that Liqaa had fled the home, to absolve them of responsibility for her sudden disappearance.
