This does not mean or translate that the Japanese company now owns the rights to use the World Cup license.
The World Cup qualifiers will take place these days so Konami and FIFA expressed this about their collaboration in eFootball: “The aim of this collaboration is to further increase the joy of the global football community through esports by allowing players to represent their nations through dedicated competitions, this initiative will take the connection with the community to a new level”.
