The Ministry of Education has exempted employees who received the Covid-19 vaccine from performing a nasal PCR examination every 14 days at the employee’s own expense as a condition for entering the workplace. It also called for activating the penalties related to non-compliance with the procedures related to the response to the Corona pandemic, which amount to a deduction of 5 working days from the employee’s salary. The Ministry of Education addressed that based on the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources Circular No. (2) for the year 2021 regarding measures to address the Covid-19 pandemic at the level of the federal government, and within the framework of follow-up and to ensure the health and safety of employees at their workplace, all employees must carry out an examination Covid-19 (Nasal PCR examination) every 14 days at the employee’s own expense, and presenting the results of the examination before entering the workplace. An exception is made for employees who have obtained the Covid-19 vaccine, with the need to present a certificate of vaccination before entering the workplace.
Also excluded are employees who have a medical certificate approved by the official health authorities in the country indicating that they cannot receive the Covid-19 vaccine according to their health and sick condition, provided that the Ministry undertakes to conduct a nose swab examination for them every 14 days after providing a documented medical report from the official authorities in the state to administer Human capital. The line manager supervises the commitment of his employees to the procedures, with the application of penalties in case of non-compliance. In the first time, a written notice is given to the employee, then a written warning is given, and in the third time, one day is deducted from the basic salary. If the employee continues not to comply, the basic salary is deducted for one working day, for the second time, for three working days, and for five working days for the third time. This circular will be applied from January 17, 2021, provided that all examinations that were taken from January 5 are approved.
The Ministry stated its employees and workers in the educational field that the Covid-19 vaccine had been provided free of charge in the health centers advertised in the country, in addition to the centers for the Ministry’s employees in Fujairah and Ajman.
