Baltic Sea holidaymakers have enjoyed not only the hot weather but also the very warm water. The beach waters are like bathing water in places, and there is no cold in the open. The sea is record warm.
The temperature is particularly high in the Gulf of Finland, where the Finnish Meteorological Institute’s wave buoy measured the highest temperature in its entire 20-year measurement history, 26.6 degrees, on Wednesday. Exceptionally high temperatures have been measured all the way to the Bay of Bothnia.
