Cavani is one of the forwards who marked an era with the Uruguayan team. At 37 years old, and still an active footballer in the Boca Juniors club in Argentina, Cavani puts an end to his time with his country’s team.
Cavani debuted in the senior team with a goal in the friendly on February 6, 2008 against Colombia at the Centenario Stadium, a match that ended 2-2.

In a message on his Instagram account, Cavani announced his official retirement from the national team.
