The theme of incentives continues to shake the automotive world. Especially in the last few months of 2021 in which the refinancing of the Ecobonus there will be no: the government has already made it known that no other funds will be allocated to the measure for this year, we will talk about it again in 2022. Year from which the executive could put an end to this refinancing in fits and starts in the current year : the proposal of the Deputy Minister for Economic Development Gilberto Pichetto Fratin is to establish a more structural measure for the purchase of electric cars.
In concrete terms, we speak of 1 billion euros of funds every year for three years. The hypothesis was launched at the table on the car market convened yesterday at Mise, a meeting attended by trade associations, from Anfia to Unrae, as well as Federauto, and the trade unions. “The Mise is evaluating whether it is possible for the Ecobonus to become a structural measure, without the need for annual refinancing – the words of Pichetto Fratin reported in today’s edition of Repubblica – I hypothesize a measure of at least three years, from 2022 to 2024, for a total of 3 billion to accompany the transition from internal combustion engines to electric ones. Funds could also come from a rearrangement of supports, those towards traditional engines will run out, those dedicated to electric will have to grow ”. If this hypothesis becomes reality, it would certainly be good news for the auto sector.
Clearly, however, the voices that arise from trade associations and trade unions they are not fully endorsed. The former underline how a billion a year is too little for operators in the sector: the available figure should be higher, and with respect to the transition between endothermic and electric, the transition must be gradual, not to net cuts. The latter, on the other hand, point out that the production of the full electric models, with the 50th removed, will enter full speed in the three-year period from 2024 to 2026: if we were to start with a drastic measure that excludes the endothermic, the effects they will not only be reduced, but negative.
