The OnRush racing video game will officially lose its online features on November 30th.
EA’s The title’s online services page has recently been updated with the following message:
“Thanks to everyone who supported our title – it was a RUSH,” it reads. “With a plummeting number of players in online modes, we will shut down servers starting November 30, 2022. For OnRush fans who want to keep playing, offline modes will remain available.”
OnRush was a twist between arcade racing and hero game, capable of convincing most reviewers at the time of release. In any case, it is clear that the number of players has plummeted to worrying levels.
OnRush had sold just over 1000 copies during its launch week, so this solution comes as no surprise. The developer was hit with several layoffs, including OnRush and Driveclub project director Paul Rustchynsky and other senior team members.
Although the offline modes will continue to be available, eliminating the online features is without a doubt to be interpreted as a gesture aimed at the definitive closure of the project.
