Summer weather prevails in Germany and the temperatures are rising sharply again. The German Weather Service issues heat warnings.
Frankfurt – The German Weather Service (DWD) has published advance warnings of heat for several regions in Germany. It can therefore be very hot in the affected areas on Sunday (June 26). “On Sunday, a strong heat load is expected,” says the weather-Warning for the affected counties.
The warnings are currently in effect on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The east of Germany is particularly affected. It can get hot up to 33 degrees there, while in the west and northwest the clouds usually dominate at 20 to 26 degrees, the DWD announced on Saturday. Single showers and short thunderstorms are not excluded here. In the rest of the country it is initially sunny or only slightly cloudy. From the afternoon there will be thunderstorms with severe weather potential from Baden-Württemberg to the central parts of the state to the Baltic Sea and also in the Alps. Also in Hesse can experience local storms with heavy rain and hail at the weekend give.
Heat wave in Germany: DWD warns of thunderstorms on Monday night
In the night to Monday (June 27th) there can be strong thunderstorms in the middle of Germany. According to the meteorologists, the daytime temperatures are between 22 and 36 degrees from west to east. Lots of cloud but few showers are expected in the west and center. In the east, the sun will be more visible at first, but from midday there will be showers and thunderstorms, locally with severe weather potential.
On Tuesday the weather development is still uncertain. North of the low mountain ranges there is likely to be more sun than clouds. Otherwise, the morning will bring partly dense clouds with occasional precipitation. In the southwest it can be thunderstorms again from the afternoon.
