The former senior official accuses Miras of failing to fulfill “the promises of integration of the discordant sectors”
The lawyer Manuel Durán, who held various positions in the PP governments of the Community, announced this Friday afternoon his decision to challenge the extraordinary congress of the PP, which is being held this afternoon, “due to the flagrant breach of the commitments made by the president of the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, with the rest of the candidates to preside over the party».
The former high official, who announced his intention to dispute the presidency of the party to Miras, but resigned after the integration agreement between him and the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, who also avoided the candidacy of the municipal councilor, assures “that all the promises of integration of the discordant sectors with the current regional leadership of the PP have been a trap to eliminate candidates in their race to be re-elected as president of the PP in the region of Murcia».
Manuel Durán communicates his complaint and accusations against López Miras in a letter spread by Whatsapp among the party’s militants. In it, he indicates that “the president has broken his word and the documented compromisers where he agreed, with Patricia Fernández, to prepare in equal parts the composition of the Executive Committee that must be elected from the congress, and the next electoral lists. He has already broken his word in the easiest, so we can guess what will happen a year from now ».
“Given which -he adds-, we are going to take as a first measure the challenge of the extraordinary congress that is being held today, due to serious flaws in its convening and development during the electoral period. And the following measures will be analyzed shortly, which we can already anticipate will be forceful.
