The British actress is the daughter of Westworld’s Thandiwe Newton.
One of the most anticipated television video game adaptation projects of recent times is HBO’s The Last of Us, whose cast and production team have been taking shape over the past few months, and now we meet the actress who She will play Sarah, Joel’s daughter, on the television show. It’s about the 16-year-old Brit, Nico Parker, whose acting debut was in the film Dumbo by Tim Burton and who is the daughter of Thandine Newton, best known for her role as Maeve Millay on Westworld, also on HBO.
The information comes through the portal specialized in shows, DiscussingFilm.net, as well as through the Twitter account of the journalist, host and producer of video game events, Geoff Keighley.
With the above, Parker joins the already signed Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), Merle Dandridge (Marlene) and Gabriel Luna (Tommy) in the acting cast; Craig Mazin (script and production), Neil Druckmann (script and production); and to Gustavo Santaolalla (music) and Kantemir Balagov (director).
A few days before filming
HBO announced the adaptation of The Last of Us to television in March 2020, but it was until November of the same year that it gave the green light to what is shaping up to be one of the most promising video game series ever produced.
In April it was announced that the filming would take place in the city of Calgary, in Alberta (Canada), in what has been cataloged by local media as the largest production in the history of that country. Filming should begin on July 5 of this year to conclude on June 22, 2022.
The Last of Us is far from the only video game adaptation to another medium, in development. In fact, we could speak of a new golden age for television shows and movies based on electronic entertainment properties.
