In line with your expansion strategy, this year’s legislative election appeared as propitious for La Cámpora to seek add some bank more in the Senate, where it already has 7 own senators. But in the closing of lists the electoral pragmatism by Cristina Kirchner and, instead of growing, the organization led by Máximo Kirchner is on the way to shrinking in the upper house.
Of 41 senators from the Frente de Todos block, the 7 that make up La Cámpora are from Corrientes Ana Claudia Almirón, the rionegrino Martin Doñate, the Fuegians Maria Eugenia Duré Y Matías Rodríguez, the porteño Mariano Recalde, the santafesina Maria de los Angeles Sacnun and Anabel Fernández Sagasti from Mendoza.
In December their mandates expire Almirón, Fernández Sagasti and Sacnun; are key for the ruling party in the structure of the Senate and three commissions preside strategic: that of General Legislation, that of Agreements and that of Constitutional Matters.

Of three, The only one who will be reelected with certainty is the woman from Mendoza, who heads the ballot for the Senate of the Front of All (FdT) in that province.
Although the FdT is second – everything indicates that Cambia Mendoza will win there, which has radical Alfredo Cornejo at the top of the list -, Fernández Sagasti would achieve banking for the minority.
But panorama for Almirón and Sacnun looks more complicated.
The Corrientes second to Carlos “Camau” Espinola. The current senator and Olympic medalist was always seen with distrust from Kirchnerism.
Almost three years ago -on August 15, 2018-, Espínola was one of the members of the Peronist caucus who was present at the frustrated session in which they were going to grant authorization to Federal Judge Claudio Bonadio for raid addresses and the office of the then senator Cristina Kirchner. That session fell due to lack of a quorum.
Even more. This year there were strong versions, both in Corrientes and in the Senate, that Camau I could go from candidate to vice of the radical governor Gustavo Valdés, who will seek this year his re-election.
But in pursuit of maintaining the ruling majority in the upper house, Cristina seems to have made a big deal out of it and chose him to head the ballot in Corrientes. Both were reunited on July 21 –three days before the closing of lists– in the Senate.
Camau’s choice is simple: he is the Peronist who better measure in Corrientes. The current senator, by going first, is assured of re-election. Almiron, no.
In order to keep his seat, he needs that the provincial ruling party of Governor Valdés does not win the election and remains with the two majority senators. In Peronism admit that the vote appears “very complicated.”
What happened with María de los Ángeles Sacnun is similar. Goes second of Marcelo lewandowski. So to ensure his re-election he needs his list to win the election.
Cristina Kirchner and María de los Ángeles Sacnun.
Fact 1: in Santa Fe the fight for the two majority and minority seats it will be between three: the FdT, Together for Change and the Progressive Front. One of the three forces will be left with nothing.
Fact 2: to be a candidate for the Senate, first the list in which Sacnun goes must beat him in the STEP September 12, led by Agustín Rossi.
The closure of Santa Fe lists also lays bare the pragmatism ofand the vice president.
Instead of securing the reelection of the key and loyal Sacnun, closed an agreement with Governor Omar Perotti so that the ballot is led by the Perottista Lewandowski, who according to the polls promises better electoral performance.
Cristina also knows showed practice in Chubut. Senator Nancy gonzalez, to whom the mandate expires and always stayed aligned with the vice president, is left out.
And instead of candidates for The field, the ballot for the Senate carries the Peronists Carlos Linares placeholder image Y Florence Papaiani.
In addition to Mendoza Fernandez Sagasti, the other camper who has practically guaranteed his bank is the pampeana Light alonso, who is second on the list of Daniel Bensasún, which is the terminus of Governor Sergio Ziliotto.
Alonso, current Administrative Secretary of the Senate, is a figure of extreme confidence by Cristina Kirchner: in the sessions, she is the young woman who sits to the left of the vice president.
Thus, of the three benches that it puts into play in this election, La Cámpora would only be guaranteed the conservation of one (that of Sagasti) and the conquest of another (that of Alonso), but you risk losing two (those of Almirón and Sacnun).
To align the planets and triumph in all the provinces in which senators are elected, La Cámpora at most it would add 8 senators, just one more than now.
To fall into Santa Fe and Corrientes, would be reduced to 6 members.
