After the free rapid tests have ended, providers are entering the market who train to become test experts via video. In the ARD test, one provider failed in terms of seriousness.
Munich – Since October 11th, corona rapid tests are no longer free in most cases. Unvaccinated people quickly pay a lot more for going to a restaurant, going to the library or going to the theater. “Test-Express” seems to be a good option: The provider turns test-willing experts into experts in twelve minutes, who can then certify negative self-tests – and that via video.
“With Test-Express you can create 3G Corona test certificates yourself at any time. You will be appointed by us as a “specialist” and you can “supervise” self-tests, ”writes“ Test-Express ”on the website. As tagesschau.de found out, but it is not always very precise.
Via video to the rapid test expert: already 35,000 registered in the online portal
According to the provider, around 35,000 people are said to have already registered as “specialists” on the website. Registration is granted to anyone who has viewed a 12-minute video. Whether he or she was sitting in front of the computer or not is not checked. Neither is the identity of the future expert checked. According to tagesschau.de the operator sees no problem in this. “Every user has to identify himself with us with his address and mobile phone number as well as his email address,” said Markus Bönig, managing director of the operator CliniGo GmbH. A control with an identity card number has so far been dispensed with.
“Nobody can issue a certificate for themselves. An adult citizen checks the performance of a self-test by another person and confirms the result, ”Bönig continued. Anyone who can be tested by a “specialist” must also register with “Test-Express” and pay 1.99 euros for each test result called up. There is a volume discount for so-called “well-tested people”.
ARD takes the test: fictitious person can register as a rapid test expert
The medical lawyer Jens Prütting walks across the street tagesschau.de do not assume that the test via “Test-Express” enables entry according to 3G regulations. The provider sees it differently: “Of course, we also took legal advice in advance and are of the opinion that we are acting correctly,” says Bönig. Accordingly, the website also advertises that the test is “recognized everywhere” and corresponds to “the verification guidelines of the Federal Ministry of Health and the Robert Koch Institute”.
In the ARD test, the journalists were able to register under a fictitious name and with a free email address – and could then have issued certificates. According to legal experts, the legal consequences are difficult to assess. Meanwhile, the “Test Express” offer was eagerly advertised among Corona critics in social media: Motto: “Test each other freely!” tagesschau.de.
