The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai has launched a new service, to proactively renew the passport of citizens before it expires and without the presence of the person concerned, while delivering it to the beneficiary to his residence.
Lieutenant-General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, said in press statements on the sidelines of a tour organized by the Directorate for media representatives, that the new service coincides with the country’s celebrations of its fiftieth National Day, and is applied for the first time with the aim of making citizens happy and facilitating them, through Renew their passport automatically six months before its expiry date.
He indicated that the administration has allocated a team to carry out this task, by monitoring the passports that are about to expire through the smart system, and communicating with the beneficiaries of the service to verify their residence addresses to deliver the passport and hand it over.
Al-Marri stressed that the administration is constantly working on devising qualitative programs and initiatives that are in the interest of citizens and residents alike, within the framework of government directions and the state’s strategy aimed at achieving the highest levels of happiness and satisfaction.
He continued: “This distinguished service comes from the general administration’s keenness to provide services according to the highest standards and practices in a proactive manner before the request, in order to facilitate individuals to go themselves to review or submit the request, as the system will use artificial intelligence techniques and digital systems to inventory all data related to customers, Determining the category in which the validity period of travel documents will expire for a period not exceeding 6 months, and then the customer will be contacted by phone and informed of the proactive service to renew the passport and informed of the payment fees.
On the other hand, Al-Marri revealed that the number of golden residency holders in Dubai only amounted to about 44,000 beneficiaries, distributed among its different categories, pointing out that the administration studies on a daily basis requests for applicants for golden residency, and aligns them with the conditions and requirements set by the government, and from Then decide on them as soon as possible.
He said: The number of passengers through Dubai International Airport has been rising continuously, since the start of the recovery phase from the “Corona” pandemic, as the total number of passengers entering and leaving the emirate reached about 145,000 passengers per day, noting that these numbers are close to what the ratio was 4 years ago. It is expected that the number of passengers will exceed 210,000 soon.
He stated that the main reasons for the rapid return of the number of passengers through Dubai Airport are due to the work system established by the government, which made the UAE top the list of countries recovering from the “Corona” pandemic, in addition to being a global tourist destination, in various disciplines “medically, culturally and recreationally.”
He stressed that the establishment of Dubai adopted a special approach to its institutional work, which ultimately resulted in its position on the throne of excellence within the Dubai Government Excellence Program, by raising the efficiency of its employees, and adopting the self-evaluation approach, through 100 accredited internal assessors, with the aim of raising the efficiency of the administration in its various departments.
Dubai Residency won four awards out of 8, in addition to qualifying for the elite category during the ceremony honoring distinguished and innovators in the Dubai government, which was organized by the Dubai Government Excellence Program.
Al-Marri stated that the Emiratisation rate at the management level reached 97%, while at the institutional level it reached 100%.
