In Crimea, a drunk driver was detained, who knocked down two pedestrians on the sidewalk, including one minor, in the village of Stalnoe, Dzhankoy District. The police started checking on the fact of the accident.
“According to preliminary information, on January 22 at 18.30 in the village of Stalnoe, Dzhankoy District, a 34-year-old driver of a VAZ-2109 car, moving along one of the central streets of the village, made an exit to the right onto the sidewalk, after which he knocked down two pedestrians – a 23-year-old man and a 14 a year old boy, ”the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea said.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, then the car ran into an electrical support, reports Kryminform… The injured were taken to the Dzhankoy regional hospital.
The number of accidents with drunk drivers in Russia in 11 months of last year decreased by 7% compared to the same period in 2019. Such data are provided by the traffic police of Russia for the period from January to November. In total, during this period in 2020, almost 13.8 thousand accidents with drunk drivers occurred on Russian roads. In 2019, there were 14.8 thousand such incidents. It is noted that the number of deaths and injuries in such car accidents decreased by 11% from 4 thousand (in 2019) to 3.6 thousand (in 2020).
