Dacia remains true to itself: The first electric car from the Romanian Renault subsidiary is a price breaker. No battery-electric new car on the German market is currently cheaper than the Dacia Spring. The prices for the 3.73 meters long and 1.58 meters narrow SUV start at 20,490 euros, minus the electric bonus, only just under 11,000 euros have to be paid. It offers 44 hp, four doors, four seats and a range of around 150 kilometers in the colder months, or 230 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. But is the electric car built in China, which is almost identical in construction to the Renault K-ZE, really a bargain? we doubt.
It looks likeable and fresh with the orange accents on the exterior mirrors, sills and roof rails. The basic version of the cute mini Stromer does without the color gimmicks, but is quite well equipped with manual air conditioning, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, electric windows and radio for Dacia standards. Parking sensors at the rear, 7-inch touchscreen with navigation and reversing camera are the only other features that cost 1,300 euros more, Comfort Plus. The latter must be ordered if you want to charge quickly with direct current. The CCS charging connection, which can be used to charge the 27.4 kWh battery at a fast charging station in around an hour with a maximum of 30 kW, costs an additional 600 euros. The charging socket is hidden under a somewhat flimsy cover with the Dacia emblem in the front hood and is easily accessible for charging stations positioned on the right and left of the roadside.
