A few days before the Bahrain GP, the first race of the 2022 world championship, some Formula 1 rules have been subject to changes implemented at the last minute, both in terms of technical and sporting regulations. While in the first a further clarification was placed on the return of the Safety Car, the FIA, yesterday, also updated other articles as regards the sporting regulationslimiting in particular to the indications that i drivers will have to follow after the race. More specifically, four rules in particular have been formalized with the new criteria, established as follows starting from the Sakhir weekend:
60.4 – Each rider must remain fully clothed after being weighed (with helmet, gloves, etc.).
60.5 – The pilots must not in any way interfere with the parc fermé protocols.
63.2 – For the entire duration of the podium ceremony and the post-race interviews, the drivers classified in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place must remain dressed only in their driving suit, kept closed up to the neck and not open until chest.
63.3 – For the duration of the interviews and the FIA post-race press conference, all drivers must remain dressed only in the uniform of their respective teams.
This novelty therefore puts an end to any controversy for ‘slogan t-shirts‘worn in the past by riders at the podium ceremony. On the occasion of the 2020 Mugello Tuscan Grand Prix, in fact, Lewis Hamilton wore a t-shirt in honor of Breonna Taylor, who died in Louisville on the night between 12 and 13 March 2020 following a shooting by three agents of the local police department, who were conducting a search of his home.
