During the course of the recent live Chou Dragon Quest X TV 9th Anniversary Program, the producer Takuma Shiraishi talked about various aspects of DRAGON QUEST X Offline in response to questions asked by users:
Why did you change the look of DRAGON QUEST Online?
The game world and the map originally intended for DRAGON QUEST Online have been changed to a much more suitable scale for DRAGON QUEST X Offline.
How far will the story go?
As the game’s subtitle suggests, we’re initially going to get to Rise of the Five Tribes. As the story continues after that point in DRAGON QUEST X Online, we hope to be able to do something about it. At the moment nothing has been decided yet, and I have no information to give.
Will the event scenes be dubbed as in DRAGON QUEST Online Version 5?
And the battle system? Will it use the same action interruption system seen in DRAGON QUEST Online?
The game will use a turn-based battle system, like traditional titles from the DRAGON QUEST series. More details about this will be released in the future.
DRAGON QUEST X Offline will arrive in Japan in the course of 2022 on platforms not yet disclosed. Unfortunately, we don’t have any Western announcements yet.
