The life of the controversial composer Koichi Sugiyamabest known for its counterpart to the videogame saga DRAGON QUESTinspired a TV series.
Sugiyama will be played by Ken Yasuda (Gintama live action), and the series will take us into the life of the composer, showing in detail the involvement with the historical RPG saga and the creation of the iconic Overture: Loto’s Themepiece at the center of the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics last July 2021.
Yasuda will be joined by Crystal Nodaas an assistant to Sugiyamaand from Yūki Hirako, Daisuke Shiba, Shō Kaga, Robin FuruyaAnd Kanako Momota as members of the development team of DRAGON QUEST. The series will start this weekend in the block 24-jikan Terebi 45 (24-hour TV 45) from NTV.
Since 1986 Sugiyama he composed more than 500 songs for DRAGON QUESTconcluding his experience with DRAGON QUEST XII. He passed away in 2021 at the age of 90. As a person of him, however, he is remembered in a controversial way because of his stances, often lashing out against the community LGBTQ + or giving voice to conservative Japanese and right-wing ideologies.
