A different RPG than usual

After having impressed, positively and negatively, the spectators of the Xbox Games Showcase 2024 with its teaser trailer, the time has come to Dragon Age: The Veilguard to lift the veil on its gameplay, to understand if and how the new, more light-hearted and almost “hero shooter” style with which the protagonists of this new Bioware adventure were presented in arriving during autumn 2024.

Thanks to the video that you find at the end of the article, we can finally appreciate the game in action: Bioware has created an RPG with a strong action imprint, which obviously will not lack the tactical elements typical of the series. If you want to make a direct comparison, it seems very similar to what was seen in the console versions of Dragon Age 2, a title which, however, did not obtain the favor of critics and the public. Will this particular design work in gameplay?

Dragon Age: The Veilguard it is also equipped (and God forbid) with a strong narrative component, which is expressed with a direction never seen before for the series both in the dialogues and in the cutscenes. In the gameplay video we get to know a handful of characters, old and new, including the protagonist, but this is already enough to create the classic synergies and dualities useful to make the plot of the game exciting, in particular when the choices that will be made may have a direct impact on events.

The rest is all to be found in the (well) 20 minutes of gameplay, which will allow you to judge with your own eyes whether BioWare’s new course is for you or not.
