According to a rumor circulating on the net in these hours, apparently Netflix is working on one TV series based on Dragon Age. For both parties involved, if the rumor turns out to be true, this would certainly be an interesting week, as well as for the medium of video games in its entirety.
In fact, remember that Netflix has just announced its entry into the gaming world. We will see the addition of real games in the streaming service around the next year, although at the moment the details are very scarce. We will update you, of course, in case of news.
Today, with this rumor Netflix is once again celebrating the marriage to video games through a TV series inspired by Dragon Age. According to the insiders, the adaptation for the small screen is in the pipeline early stages of processing at the streaming giant, although production has been described as “active”.
Beyond this slight contradiction, the rumors come from a source that the foreign press defines, verbatim, as reliable and truthful. Apparently the show is in an active phase of development, which could lead to at least one being commissioned first season if the pilot episode was appreciated.
Netflix has been quite successful with theadaptation of famous games on the small screen, as the live-action series inspired by The Witcher (drawing inspiration from CD Projekt Red titles and original books in equal measure). And the live-action field is just the beginning.
Even in the animated sector, in fact, Netflix has been able to collect not a few consents. We allude to the brilliant adaptation of Castlevania, which was loved by both the general public and fans of the Konami series. Part of the credit also goes to the pedigree, such as the comic author’s screenplay Warren Ellis (Nextwave, Transmetropolitan).
It’s not even the first rumor that has been able to make fans of the BioWare RPG series prick their ears. In fact, in recent times, the leaker Jeff Grubb speculated the official announcement of Dragon Age 4 in the near future.
