GERMANY: – ROBUST START – After the weak start to the week, the Dax (DAX 30) should stabilize on Tuesday. Two hours before the start, indications suggest that the leading index will start trading solidly and that the 14,000 points will remain in sight. The broker IG estimated the leading index 0.2 percent higher to 13,966 points. The previous day’s low of a good 13,800 points should thus keep him at a distance. Market observers currently see the stock exchange in consolidation mode after the record rally at the start of the year. Many things preoccupied investors: The corona infection figures, especially in Great Britain, the already high expectations of an economic recovery this year, the political unrest in the USA, monetary policy uncertainty, rising US interest rates and finally the reporting season that is about to begin.
USA: – PROFIT TAKING – After repeated record highs on Wall Street last week, investors silvered some of the price gains on Monday. The US lead index Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) ultimately fell by 0.29 percent to 31,008.69 points. The market-wide S&P 500 was down 0.66 percent to 3799.61 points, and the technology-heavy NASDAQ 100 lost a significant 1.55 percent to 12,902.49 points.
ASIA: – PRICE GAINS – The stock markets in Asia posted price gains on Tuesday. The Tokyo stock exchange rose slightly at the start of the week after the holiday rest period. The Japanese leading index Nikkei 225 closed 0.1 percent stronger. An even friendlier picture emerged on the stock exchanges in China. The Chinese CSI 300 with the 300 most important stocks on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges recently gained 1.72 percent and the Hang Seng in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region climbed 0.65 percent.
