Four people were killed and about 70 injured on Sunday when part of a platform fell into a bullfighting arena in the central Colombian municipality of El Espina, local officials said.
Videos posted on social media showed a section of the podium collapsing toward the track, as locals were taking part in a running festival with the bulls.
“At the moment there are four dead, two women, a man and a minor,” Tolima Provincial Governor Jose Ricardo Orozco told local radio blue.
Major Luis Fernando Velez, director of civil defense in the province, said that no one was left trapped under the rubble, noting that many missing people had been found.
“The emergency situation was bypassed at the scene. More or less than 70 people were injured,” Velez said.
