Sequel to the successful 2019 film, with which the iconic Crawley family made the leap to the big screen from a series that is sweeping viewers who like British soap operas. In this new installment, part of the family will embark on a trip to the south of France to discover the villa that the Dowager Countess has just inherited, while the rest will remain in the emblematic castle to attend the shooting of a film. Directed by Simon Curtis, Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye and Dominic West join the original cast.
‘Where’s Anne Frank’
Israeli director Ari Folman, author of two marvels of animation such as ‘Waltz with Bashir’ and ‘El Congreso’, signs his particular adaptation of ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’, which he already conceived as a graphic novel five years ago. On this occasion we meet a friend of Anne Frank called Kitty, to whom she dedicated her famous diary. This young woman will wake up in today’s Amsterdam and walk in the footsteps of the protagonist. ‘Where’s Anne Frank’ was the only animated film selected at the last Cannes Film Festival, where it received a warm welcome.
According to those responsible, inspired by real events, ‘Vicky’s secret’ tells the odyssey of an 8-year-old girl who stopped speaking and communicating with the world after the loss of her mother. Her father decides to move to the mountains with her in search of a new beginning for both of them. Nothing changes until Vicky finds and adopts a puppy, whom she will name ‘Mystère’. The joy returns until in the town they discover that the animal is, in fact, a wolf. The French Denis Imbert directs this film presented at the Seville Festival and whose cast is led by Vincent Elbaz, Marie Gillain and Éric Elmosnino.
‘Go Fish’: Let’s save the sea!’
American animated film starring a parrotfish who has always dreamed of being a superhero. He gets his chance when a mysterious flood of black goo erupts near his coral reef. A seahorse, an eel and a puffer fish will help him save his home, facing a sunken ship with hidden treasure, an abandoned plane, angry sharks and an underwater volcano. Mark Hammill and Ron Perlman provide the voices in the original version.
Aitana Sánchez Gijón returns after her Goya nomination for ‘Parallel Mothers’ in Fran Torres’ debut feature, with a long career as an advertising director behind her. The protagonist of it is an ambitious young woman who works in a fashion multinational and becomes pregnant without having planned it (Cumelén Sanz). With no family in Spain and with doubts about the future of her motherhood, she seems doomed to return to her country and abandon the promising professional career for which she has fought so hard. However, her boss, a self-made woman whom he admires (Aitana Sánchez Gijón), makes an unusual proposal: give her son up for adoption to her and in exchange for her being able to continue promoting her within the company.
