There was such fear yesterday morning, when the news of an accident for Andrea Dovizioso arrived. During Motocross training, he fell while riding on the Terranuova Bracciolini track, in the province of Arezzo. He was airlifted to the Careggi hospital in Florence and underwent the necessary checks, which prevented any serious injury, revealing a fractured collarbone.
The former MotoGP rider himself gave an update on his condition, who last night published a post on social media portraying him in the hospital bed. Dovizioso wanted to reassure everyone by explaining his situation firsthand. “This time I gave it well,” writes the Forlì native on Instagram. “My collection of fractures is becoming more and more consistent, but the important thing is that the CT scan is negative.”
“Tomorrow I will do further tests and will keep you updated. Thanks to Yuri (his coach, ed.) who is always by my side, to all those who helped me and to the medical staff at the hospital. Thanks also to everyone who has already written to me. I'll read you. Guess what I broke?!”, continues the caption of Dovizioso's post, who will undergo further checks today to keep the situation monitored.
Motocross is currently the main activity of the three-time MotoGP world vice-champion, after completing his journey as a rider on the track. Recently, he took over the Faenza cross track, renaming it “04 Park” and completely renovating it. Dovizioso has never hidden his love for cross, so much so that he practiced it as training even when he raced in MotoGP.
He is now taking part in the Italian Championship, from which he will be forced to withdraw in the next stage precisely because of this accident. Updates will follow, even if the worst seems to be over after the initial scare.
