The F1 season is now really starting again. The test days are underway and Netflix is putting on the latest season today Drive to Survive online. Robert Doornbos, who can also be seen in a promo film for the latest season, is allowed to cheat earlier. He thinks Max Verstappen comes across as very sincere in the latest season Drive to Survive.
In any case, the F1 fans will not be disappointed: ‘I have already watched the episodes and enjoyed them; in two four-hour sessions I looked everything away. Extra painful to see again how Ferrari were so dominant at the start and how they are completely knocked out in a matter of five or six races.
Max Verstappen is actively cooperating for the first time
‘For the Dutch it is nice that Max Verstappen actively participated in the series last year. You see him in front of the camera and he explains the legendary season. Most of the time he has a smile on his face as he wins race after race while his competitor makes one mistake after another,” Doornbos writes in his column for TopGear Magazine.
Not a play by Max Verstappen Drive to Survive
He continues: ‘Max comes across as sincere as we know him – what you see is what you get, and every now and then he makes a joke in between. But he is always very clear in his statements, even when he talks about his buddy Ricciardo or Schumacher: if you are not good enough at this level, then you have to go home. Then you can have so many excuses, but the stopwatch doesn’t lie.’
In any case, Doornbos thinks they hit the right note in the latest season: ‘They did well at Netflix. Not too much political bullshit, just straight from the heart and like it is.’ If all goes well, the new season will appear Drive to Survive any time on the streaming service. Or is it all just a bit too much for you?
