It is useless to go around it too much, the BFG is undoubtedly one of the most iconic weapons of DOOM, a gun capable of making even the most powerful demons of Hell pale and, from chapter to chapter, has allowed us to tear countless adversaries to pieces. Obviously also in DOOM Eternal this prodigious weapon is present, which has recently become – incredible but true – a spectacular gaming PC with RTX 3080 in tow which was called “PC BFG”.
In a recent episode of the series GeForce Garage from Nvidiathe modder Celica showed his elaborate “PC BFG”, while providing a lot of interesting information about the build itself. According to what has been stated, the modder has added some specific elements to the design of the weapon, described as a creation with a sci-fi style as rich as it is sinuous.
While not particularly useful for shredding demons, the product rests on a rich housing that forms the basis for what appears to be a huge turret-style weapon (does anyone remember the huge BFG seen in Doom Eternal?) and features neon lights that can be activated or deactivated on command.
As for the internal components of the “cannon”, the build features an Intel i7 10700K CPU, 16 GB of Zadak memory and an ASRock Z490 gaming motherboard. The RTX 3080 GPU is instead mounted on the barrel of the gun, with card fans simulating a gorgeous weapon reload effectjust to stay on topic.
As easily imaginable, this prodigious PC also sucks energy in frightening amountsas it uses a 1,000W Cooler Master power supply. Just like the best gaming PCs out there, the build also uses an AIO Cooler Master cooler to keep gun temperatures low enough.
It is unlikely that such a product will ever be made available on the market and, honestly, considering both the characteristics of the computer and its uniqueness, perhaps it better be. After all, we’re certainly not talking about a job that fits everyone’s pockets.
