SAO PAULO (Reuters) – The dollar closed slightly higher against the real on Thursday, after retreating earlier in reaction to yet another liquidity offer by the Central Bank, with the market still evaluating the monetary authority’s willingness to remain active in the foreign exchange market.
The dollar in cash rose 0.14%, to 5.5158 reais on sale.
The currency fluctuated from 5.4680 reais (-0.73%) to 5.5315 reais (+0.43%).
Emerging currencies hovered around stability, the same behavior of a dollar index against rivals from rich countries.
