Full recovery of domestic tourism in Russia is possible by the end of this year. Such a statement on Friday, July 30, was shared by the head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova.
She pointed out that in the first half of 2021, Russian domestic tourism was marked by an almost complete recovery – 95%.
“According to our data, in the first half of the year 24.6 million people rested in the country (they stayed in hotels for at least one night – Ed.), Which is 85% more than the same period last year and only 5% less than the dock 2019”, – said the head of the tourism department.
In addition, in addition to the voiced 24.6 million people, another 49 million traveled around the country without stopping at hotels.
Doguzova positively assessed the dynamics of the recovery of the tourism sector and stressed that Russian indicators exceeded those of most other countries. In turn, the department is making every effort to maintain this pace.
Of the leading Russian regions in terms of the number of vacationers, Moscow, Krasnodar Territory, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg, Crimea and Tatarstan can be distinguished. The top ten was also joined by such regions as Altai Territory, Rostov Region, Sevastopol, Chechnya, Kabardino-Balkaria and Sakhalin.
Commenting on the tourist situation on the Russian Black Sea coast, Doguzova indicated that according to the current dynamics, the results of 2021 are likely to be marked by an increase of 10-15% compared to the same indicators in 2019. In parallel, there is a gradual recovery in foreign travel.
Yesterday, on July 29, the director of the Pink Elephant travel agency network Aleksan Mkrtchyan announced that this summer tour operators do not expect an increase in the tourist flow to Bulgaria. In his opinion, the most popular destinations will be Turkey, Russia and Cyprus.
