Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness, the film directed by Sam Raimi, will be the second own film of the ‘Supreme Sorcerer’ in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his leading role and will share the stage with Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch.
Much expectation and speculation have arisen about the result of the film, especially since there is still no official synopsis. However, the director previously revealed to the New York Film Academy that it will be the closest thing to a horror movie for the MCU: “We want there to be horrible sequences like in Indiana Jones, with which I, as a small child, would cover my eyes when their faces melted ”.
Now, Sam Raimi spoke with Collider to confess why it took him 14 years to resume directing a superhero movie, after the third installment of Spider-Man starring Tobey Maguire. These were the statements that fans were waiting for:

“I didn’t know if I could face this again because it was pretty horrible after being the director of Spider-Man 3. The internet was revolutionized and people didn’t like that movie and they certainly let me know. So it was difficult to assume. But then, I found out there was a vacancy on Doctor Strange 2. My agent called me and said, ‘They’re looking for a director at Marvel for this movie and your name came up. Would you be interested?'”.
After this proposal, he wondered if he could still do it. “These kinds of movies are really demanding. And I felt, ‘Well, that’s reason enough.’ I’ve always really liked the character of Doctor Strange. It wasn’t my favorite, but it was among the favorites. I loved the first movie. I thought [el director] Scott Derrickson did a wonderful job, so I said, ‘Yes.’ They left the character in a great place. I didn’t think I would make another superhero movie. It just happened. “
Production on Doctor Strange 2 began in October 2020 and, to the delight of fans, ended last June after delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The news came along with a concept art and it was confirmed that its premiere is scheduled for March 25, 2022,
