Russian doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov criticized body positivity (a social movement advocating the right to feel comfortable in your body with any appearance – approx. “Lenta.ru”). In the video for Youtube-show “Open, David!” he also urged viewers not to love themselves.
Myasnikov agreed that body positivity is evil. “A person should not love himself. I go to the toilet at night, walk past the mirror, look: the shoulders are down, my stomach sticks out, all kind of nasty. And this gives me strength, ”the doctor said and explained that this motivates him to go in for sports.
Myasnikov stressed that body positivity also has advantages: for example, it helps fight diseases such as bulimia. “Of course, you have to take yourself as you are, just not to go to the extreme that“ I’m fat and I’m so good ”. Here I have, I apologize, “pop’s ears” sticking out – and that’s good, “the doctor said.
The doctor also admitted that he dislikes people who do not take care of themselves, and explained his feeling with envy. “Why should I suffer from hunger and train for hours while he eats dumplings and doesn’t think about anything? I want that too, but I can’t, ”the specialist joked.
Earlier, Myasnikov complained that many people use medical terms without understanding their meaning. He proposed to ban some of these words in order to stop the spread of misinformation. His list includes the concepts of “immunity”, “antibodies”, “mutating strains”, “cytokine storm” and “antibody-dependent amplification”.
