How far in advance of my passport expiration date should I schedule my renewal appointment?
The US Embassy in Bogotá recommends that US citizens apply for their passports well in advance of any planned trip. The demand for passport renewals is high and continues to increase.
Therefore, waiting times for an appointment are increasing. We encourage all applicants to schedule your passport renewal appointment at least four months in advance to the expiration date of your passport or to a planned trip.
