The board of directors of the world’s largest American communication and entertainment conglomerate The Walt Disney Company has appointed as the new president of the company Susan E. Arnold. This would be the first time that a woman has held this position since Disney was founded in 1923.
The American businesswoman will assume the baton on December 31, and will thus succeed the former president Robert A. Iger, who was in charge of Disney since 2005 and is remembered because he acquired Pixar (2006), Marvel (2009), Lucasfilm (2012) and 21st Century Fox (2019).

Arnold has been part of the Disney board for 14 years, and since 2018 she presided as the main independent director of the Council. In addition, she was an executive of the investment firm The Carlyle Group between 2013 and 2021, and previously, she was in charge of the global businesses of Procter & Gamble between 2007 and 2009.
