The group, which operated in Madrid and Guadalajara, supplied what was stolen from the vehicles to a Chinese citizen for sale
The Civil Guard has dismantled a criminal organization specialized in the theft of trucks with merchandise. The gang operated in the provinces of Guadalajara and Madrid and it is estimated that the value of what was stolen and the damage caused to the vehicles exceeds half a million euros.
The investigations began in June 2021 following the theft of a truck in Cabanillas del Campo (Guadalajara) that was recovered without the load in an industrial estate in Getafe (Madrid). The agents focused their investigations on the study of different robberies committed with the same procedure. Once the criminals were identified, they were subjected to a discreet follow-up to locate the stolen trucks as well as the possible receivers of the merchandise.
In this sense, a citizen of Chinese origin was arrested as a receiver of merchandise from a truck that had been stolen from a company in Azuqueca de Henares (Guadalajara) with items intended for sale in tobacconists, such as lighters, filters or cigarette paper, ascending its value to 112,000 euros.
As a result of the operation, the three members of the gang have been arrested and four articulated vehicles and a van that had been stolen have been recovered, as well as part of the merchandise stolen in their hits. The detainees are two Spaniards and the Chinese receiver, aged between 34 and 39 years, who are considered perpetrators of the crimes of belonging to a criminal group and robbery with force. All have passed to the disposition of the court of investigation in functions of guard of Guadalajara.
