A couple of days ago a new Nintendo Direct Miniwhich shared different third-party games that will arrive in the coming months, among them was the long-awaited Return to Monkey Island. However, most fans did not receive it, and now the director of the title mentions that he will no longer share anything about the title.
As reported by the media Video Games Chronicle, Ron Gilbert He said on his personal blog that the joy of sharing has been taken away from him, as there are followers who have verbally attacked him on social networks. This is because the new game has changed its art style, something that generated some exaggerated anger from the defenders of the original.
Bang up job, everybody.
(I’ve seen a lot of passionate but polite/polite-adjacent discussion going on, but the comments on Ron’s blog were a total shitshow.) pic.twitter.com/BUBoPdU1fS

I am closing the comments. People are just being mean and I need to delete the personal attack comments. It’s an amazing game and everyone on the team is very proud of it. Play it or not, but don’t ruin it for others. I will not post more about the game. The joy of sharing has come from me.
Even, Gilbert mentioned that Return to Monkey Island it may not be the art style they wanted or expected, but it is the art style he wanted. He said that the goal of the games was never to have pixel art, but rather to use state-of-the-art technology and art to push the franchise forward, confirming that even the third installment would be entirely different in art.
Remember that Return to Monkey Island will come to switch Y pc at some point of 2022.
