Director Christopher Nolan, known to the Russian audience for the films “The Dark Knight”, “Interstellar”, “Inception”, “Argument” and others, is going to end cooperation with the Warner Bros. studio, with which he worked for 20 years. The newspaper found out about it Wall street journal…
Nolan was displeased with the studio’s new strategy. In December, Warner Bros. announced that it will temporarily release major projects not only in cinemas, but also on the HBO Max streaming service. The company made the decision on its own, without consulting the filmmakers.
Nolan publicly outraged such a policy, stressing that this should not be treated like people who invest a lot in their films. “They deserve to be consulted and discussed what will happen to their projects,” the director commented.
Note that not only Nolan opposed such a plan. Among the opponents, for example, is the author of “Dune” Denis Villeneuve. He is confident that in this way Warner Bros. draws attention to HBO Max, while losing to other streaming in popularity.
